Shameless Chosen scenes

After much deciding I have chosen my scenes for my project.

The first scene is from Series 1, episode 3. I wanted to pick something early on in the programme as I feel it there is a lot more I could do with directing. I also wanted to make sure the scene was doable to film. I picked the scene when Kev is coming back from pub and proposes to his girlfriend to marry him. When in the pub he tried distracting some ladies who were flirting with him and he said he was getting married. The word quickly got around and so after getting drunk 'to celebrate', he went home to propose. This scene is short but I like it and want to direct in my own style.
It is a doable scene with both interior and exterior shots of an house.

Instead of the gritty handheld camerawork I will use steady and smooth shots. I will get more in with the action and use more closer framing. I will concentrate more heavily on the sound design as I need that to work with the amount of dialogue and sounds that will feature.

My second scene is from series 5 episode 4. Everyone thinks Frank has won the lottery. I like this scene as it is funny but also interesting to watch. It not only focus on Frank but everyone surrounding him which I like. He goes to the toilet and a newsflash appears on the TV, we then see everyone react to the news as Frank returns.

The scene in question is from about 1.40 as Frank puts his change on the bar. Till 4.30 when we leave Frank to the bar tenders. There is a lot of dialogue but still a good scene that I wish to direct. It would involve researching locations for a pub and a fair amount of cast. It would be mostly interior with the small exterior shots for the TV bulletin. I want to use my smooth and steady camerawork but also a lot of sound design as there is a large amount of sounds just from this scene. I need to spend time working on that aspect of production. I also want to have different lighting as this seems slightly dull, I would want to have much brighter shots with the emphasis on the storyline and without going out of context.

There is a lot to think about and research for my scenes but I already have ideas towards them. I will now go into panning further over the next few weeks so that I can begin filming.
